The 3 Key Differences
Office Visit Copays (Plan N only)
With Plan N, you pay up to $20 per doctor visit and up to $50 for emergency room visits that don't result in inpatient admission. Plan G has zero copays.
Part B Excess Charges (Plan G only)
Some doctors charge up to 15% above Medicare's approved amount — called 'excess charges.' Plan G covers these; Plan N does not. In Florida, excess charges are rare but not impossible.
Monthly Premium Difference
Plan N typically costs $30–$50 less per month than Plan G. If you rarely visit the doctor, Plan N's lower premium may save you money overall.
